Complete settings reference

Settings are divided into App preferences and This project settings. App preferences affect the workspace and stay on this device; project settings travel in .eido. Do not confuse “Canvas & zoom (default)” with the current project's “Canvas & zoom.”

App › General

  • Include agent chats adds project sessions to saved .eido; off by default. Review prompts and attachments before sharing.
  • Click opens properties controls whether a canvas click opens the popover. When off, click selects only; right-click and Objects still open it.
  • Reset all preferences resets appearance, export, Agent, server, and new-project canvas defaults. It does not change open projects' geometry or own canvas settings.

App › Appearance

  • Color theme: dark, light, or system.
  • Language: system or a supported UI locale. Eidolang keywords are never translated.
  • Font size: S/M/L/XL (about 85%–130%) for header, tools, panels, and dialogs only—not canvas or export size.

App › Canvas & zoom (default)

Copied once when a new project is created:

  • 2D min/max scale and target grid spacing in pixels;
  • 3D min/max camera distance and grid density;
  • auto-dock while dragging.

Changing defaults never modifies an existing project. Use the This project page for that.

App › MCP / REST server

Native external-interface settings in the Windows app:

  • server on/off and port (default 14159);
  • loopback-only or same-LAN clients;
  • MCP address and copied Trae/WorkBuddy config;
  • independent allow-list for each tool;
  • up to 200 recent external calls.

LAN mode has no authentication and must be used only on a trusted network. Figure exposure is controlled separately by the dot in Figures. See Agent integration.

App › Account

Email-code sign-in, Free/Pro state, today's allowances, refresh, sign-out, and platform store purchase. See Account, free limits, and Pro.

App › Agent

  • show/hide the in-app Agent tab;
  • save several models and choose the active one;
  • providers: OpenAI-compatible, Anthropic, Google Gemini/Vertex;
  • name, Base URL, API key, and model ID per model;
  • fetch model IDs from the endpoint or enter one manually.

Windows and Android store API keys in protected system credential storage; non-sensitive model metadata remains in preferences. Deleting a model also deletes its key.

App › Export defaults

  • PNG/GIF scale: 1×, 2×, or 4×;
  • default transparent background for 2D SVG/PNG;
  • GIF frame rate: 5–50 fps.

These seed the export dialog and can be overridden per export. GIF duration always comes from the script timeline. Coordinate-grid inclusion also has a saved default and remains adjustable.

This project › Canvas & zoom

The same 2D/3D limits, grid values, and auto-dock, but owned by this project and written to the .eido manifest:

  • 2D limits and auto-dock apply immediately;
  • 3D distance limits apply after reopening/switching the figure;
  • Reset this project copies current App defaults without affecting other projects.

About

Shows app version, project website, and support email. A useful report includes version, platform, test/production environment, reproduction steps, and a share-safe .eido when relevant.
