Overview
Long Arm (“the App”) is an Android tool developed by Metaphor Projects that turns a device into a controllable remote endpoint via a built-in HTTP server. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use Long Arm.
Automatically Collected Information
Long Arm does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with Metaphor Projects. No analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or tracking technologies are used within the App.
How the App Works
Long Arm runs an HTTP server on your local network and responds to API commands sent from other machines on the same network. All activity — including gesture injection, screenshot capture, and screen information requests — is initiated by you or tools you control, and occurs entirely on your device and local network.
Screenshots captured via the App are returned directly in the API response to the requesting client. Metaphor Projects does not receive, store, or have access to any screenshots or screen content.
Accessibility Services are used solely to perform gesture injection (taps, swipes, long-presses) in response to your remote commands. Long Arm does not read, record, or transmit the content of other apps.
Request logs displayed in the App are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted anywhere.
Network and Security
Long Arm binds its HTTP server to your device’s local network interface. It does not open any connections to external servers. You can configure the server to require a bearer token before accepting API requests, and restrict the bind address to a specific network interface for additional control.
Third-Party Services
Long Arm does not integrate any third-party advertising, analytics, or social login services. Any platform-level services (such as Google Play or Android OS APIs) are subject to their respective providers’ privacy policies.
Children’s Privacy
Long Arm is a developer tool intended for technical users. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Data Security
Because Long Arm stores all data locally on your device and transmits nothing to our servers, the security of your data depends on the security of your device and the network you operate on. We recommend using the bearer token option and binding the server to a trusted network interface when operating in shared or untrusted environments.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
